Projects!

This weekend John and I worked on baby projects and I think they turned out to be awesome! John came up with the idea of customizing Evan's name for a wall hanging. He painted the letters, lined them with ribbon and glued on the little guys on the top of each letter. This is huge because he picked everything out which means he had to go with me to Michael's (the craft store) and this is a place he despises. He must really really love his son. I think his project is so cool!

John's favorite character is the dinosaur and mine is the cute little pup.

I took on a sewing project. I use to sew a lot but haven't touched a sewing machine in like a year and a half. I decided to make a boppy cover because I didn't want to be limited to the designs they offer in the stores, plus they are outrageously expensive in my opinion. I was so proud to spend only $12 to make a unique boppy cover! I was inspired to do this after watching a youtube video from spindletosashes.com it looked so easy and quick and they sell their pattern for download for $5! I was so excited that I actually completed the project and that it is functional, I want to do another one! I have literally become obsessed with STS that I want to try a few other sewing projects before Evan arrives.

We recently (like 2 weeks ago) put satellite on hiatus since there were no shows that seemed worth watching plus we have so much to do, there isn't much time to be wasting in front of the tv. I am happy to report that I have not missed tv at all. It has allowed me to explore other hobbies that I have abandoned in order to watch Grey's Anatomy and Desperate Housewives. I have actually had time to read, research baby notions, explore crafty projects and actually go to sleep at a reasonable hour!

Juicing

Okay, so my Dad bought me a juicer a couple years back and I haven't used it in awhile. I got motivated after reading an article in Yoga Journal about the health benefits of juicing. So, tonight I juiced up some honey dew, watermelon and cantaloupe. I won't be doing that again. I feel good that I got a nice dose of vitamin A and C but it was way too sweet and I don't think I like melons enough to want to drink them. Excuse me while I brush the melon taste out of my mouth.

Baby Stuff: I think the baby is dropping? People at work say it looks like I am carrying even lower than I was and I can breathe!! He was moving around like crazy today. I saw something (maybe an elbow or heel?) poke out of my side! As living quarters get more cramped in there, Evan's movements hurt! Today on the way home, he jabbed my side and stayed there for a bit and I was making weird faces as a result of the weird feeling and I bet people were staring. That's okay, he's still me sweet baby boy.

34 Weeks

Well, I am 34 weeks this Father's Day weekend and I am reeeeaaallly feeling it. I am very excited to be one week closer to meeting our baby! The anxiousness can be overwhelming at times both in dealing with the physical issues of carrying another human being in your body as well as the mental preparation of getting our baby into the world and meeting him. Below is a bare belly pic so you can get the full experience of ever expanding midsection.

Evan is moving a lot and growing bigger every day. My poor back is sore and my feet don't appreciate carrying around the 30 some odd pounds that I have gained this far. Evan likes to sit on my sciatic nerve and that is really fun. Sitting at work has been getting more tiresome these days so I have to be sure to get up and walk around a lot. People at work keep giving me these sad looks like they are sympathizing with me which means they can tell I am uncomfortable! 6 more weeks to go! Yet, a lot of people (we are talking at work, the grocery store, target etc) keep saying I don't look like I'll make it to August.....I had someone tell me," Oh boy any day now huh?" Nope not quite....

John has been so nice and helpful in handling my to-do lists and dealing with my mood swings. He is such a trooper, I love you husband!

The Zoo

Today we went to the zoo for my company picnic. It was such a nice day out, I think it was in the upper 80s. Our zoo is tiny but it was nice to get out and do something different. I was moving slowly today so the zoo seemed huge to me! I didn't feel like eating the hot dogs and hamburgers that were offered so I ended up coming home and making apple cinnamon pancakes. Oh how I love breakfast food.

These 2 flamingos were fighting for awhile.

I felt so tired and we had just arrived....

Woops, it's been awhile

Every night I have said to myself , "I am going to update the blog in a minute." That minute never came. I've already begun to feel unprepared and overwhelmed with the amount of tasks I need to complete before baby arrives!
First, belly pics at 32.5 weeks:

I am really starting to feel big now. Every morning I swear my belly has grown an inch! I get out of breath easily now and have to take my time getting up or turning over. I knew I was getting big but when I saw this pic I was like, "That's what I look like?" I still have 8ish weeks left, I don't know how much further my body can stretch!

I went to Twice As Nice after work today and traded some clothes that I KNOW I will never be able to fit in again. I picked up a few things for Baby and didn't pay a dime! I love that. See all the cute onsies? I could have brought home an arm load but I controlled myself.

We have been putting all the baby stuff together. I never realized EVERYTHING requires assembly. The glider, the baby swing, and every piece of furniture had to be assembled! But, it was fun to sit there and see everything come together. I'll have to get some pics up!

My mom threw me a baby shower! On June 5th, my mom got some friends together and we had a lunch at El Charro. It was so nice to be able to ask questions and hear their stories. My friends were so generous and kind! I had a great time.

Lots of fun stuff going on. That cake, by the way, was a chocolate cake with raspberry filling and it was sooo delicious!

More to come.
